Soulful Long Lunch

Creative Connection

SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER | 11:00AM - 3:30PM

11.11 Studios, Noosaville

What happens when we give ourselves permission to create ~ without expectation, perfection or purpose?

Join us for our next Soulful Long Lunch, “Creative Connection”, an uplifting day exploring the many ways creativity can bring more joy, playfulness, expression and connection into our lives.

Creativity isn't reserved for artists. It can be found in the way we move, make, cook, write, sing, solve problems and see the world around us. This lunch is an invitation to reconnect with your innate creativity, to become curious, embrace play and discover how creative expression can support our wellbeing, help us process emotion and reconnect us with ourselves and others.

Guided by our Series Ambassador and MC Kim Morrison, our panel includes four local and inspiring creatives whose work spans art, music, ceramics and creative expression.

Noosa watercolour artist and surface pattern designer Cass Deller brings colour, intuition and joy to her distinctive creative practice; acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Wes Carr explores connection and expression through music.

Ren Jeske, Artist Psychotherapist & Somatic Coach, brings another unique creative perspective to the conversation; and award-winning ceramicist, interdisciplinary artist and educator Fiona Cuthbert O'Meara shares her deeply tactile approach to creativity, nature and the art of slowing down.

Our Mindful Moment will be guided by Ren Jeske.

Together, they'll explore what creativity looks like beyond the finished product, the vulnerability of expressing ourselves, letting go of perfection, rediscovering play and allowing creativity to become a tool for connection, reflection and healing.

A Creative Space, Reimagined

Noosa's brand-new 11.11 Studios will be transformed into an immersive and unexpected event precinct, a fitting home for a lunch celebrating creativity in all its forms.

The creative expression continues at the table

Journey Street Food will curate a vibrant Mediterranean-inspired feast. Colourful, abundant and playful, designed for sharing and connection. Expect beautiful food, a unique setting, meaningful conversation and all the thoughtful touches that make a Soulful Long Lunch so special.

Come to be inspired. Come to connect. Come to play.

And perhaps leave seeing your own creativity a little differently.

When we eat with awareness, we nourish not only our bodies,

but our connection to the earth.

Ren Jeske

HEAD CHEF, ēthos Restaurant

Mal grew up on the Sunshine Coast, and in many ways, he never really left, that love of place, of fresh produce and open land, runs through everything he does.

Today, Mal leads the kitchen at ēthos on Alsahwa Estate as Head Chef, and it's a role that feels like coming home. Each morning might begin with a walk through the garden, harvesting whatever is ready, letting the season set the menu.

His cooking is refined and grounded at once, classical technique in service of the ingredient, not the other way around. Every dish is built around seasonality, shaped by relationships with local growers, and guided by a quiet commitment to minimal waste.

The goal is always the same: let each ingredient tell its own story.

That clarity of purpose was hard-won. Mal trained in hatted restaurants in Sydney and Michelin-starred kitchens in London, developing the precision and discipline that underpins everything he cooks. Time spent running a pop-up concept across Europe broadened his palate and deepened his curiosity, exposing him to food cultures that continue to inform the way he thinks about a plate.

But it's here, now, at ēthos, where all of that comes together. Cooking that is produce-driven and share-worthy. Thoughtful without being fussy. Rooted in this place, this land, this season.
